Book Review: Getting Over Garrett Delaney by Abby Mcdonald

This book has to be one of my all time favorite books. I've already read it three times and I can only recommend reading it to.
Sadie a 17 year old is hopeless one sided in love with Garrett and the book is as the title suggest getting over Garrett. The story is all about how she gets herself to "fall out of love" with garrett and all the mishaps in between. She also rekindles her friendship with an old friend and gains some new ones.
Once again Abby Mcdonald is a master of writing good character development. You can relate to Sadie as she goes from being hopelessly in love ( because we have all been there) to a independent young woman.

I'd give this book 6 stars from five because I just can really really realate to this book.

Sorry I don't have a picture of this book because i had to give it back to library. I do have the intent to buy it.

Book Review: Sophomore Switch by Abby Mcdonald

I almost instantly fell in love with this book. It's a story of two girls who try to escape their past in form of a student exchange. While hard working shy and career orientated Emily heads to California party girl Tasha whose partying escapades have caught up with her heads to rainy Oxford.
Both their worlds and what they have known gets turned around. They get out of their comfort zone
The character development in this book is absolutely awesome. It's starts with to strangers who end up being your friend. It also deals with Feminisem which makes me so so very happy because I feel a lot of young adult romance books don't deal with feminisem

I really recommend you to read this book.

Sadly I don't have a pic of the book :(

How to deal with divorce of parents

Following up on my book review of the duff i thought I would write a post about divorce, since the book talks about it.
So there must be a lot of blogpost about this for dealing with the divorce of parents (or the divorce of any other family member)
Divorces are nothing nice my mom is currently going through divorce no. 2. So the divorce of my mom and dad was not to hard on me for one I was still a little kid and my parents still get along really well but divorce no. 2 was way more harder on me for one that I was older and my stepdad cheated on my mom and watching my mom suffer while I had to helplessly stand there and watch. So I am going to share some "advice" that helped me:

1. This is the most important one no matter what anyone says the divorce is NOT YOUR FAULT.
2. Tell your parents how you feel don't bottle it all up inside you. It took me a long time to actually tell my dad and stepdad how I felt about them leaving me and my mom and telling my mom that it hurt me so much seeing her suffer but it cleared so much up in my mind. So communication is important so even if you now hate/dislike the person.
3. Take care of yourself do something fun with your friends, treat yourself to something you want. During the divorce no 2 of my mom I was so busy worrying about her that I totally forgot that I felt really shit but thank god I have great friends who took care of me
4. As much as you are involved in a divorce don't forget your parents are grow ups ( or act like them) so a divorce is something between them.
5. As shit as a divorce is and the potential moving and new boyfriend/girlfriend stepdad/stepmom is remember that out of all bad something good comes.

I hope this helped someone out there.

Never forget YOU are a wonderful human being

Book Review: The Duff

The Movie the duff in coming out soon so I decided to read the book before the movie came out.
The book itself it written really well. I does not sugar coat being a teenager with the ups and downs. I think the fact that the author Kody Keplinger was a teenager when she came up with the idea. It's a really good mix between touching subjects like divorce, domestic violence and alkohol abuse and general teenage life. I read the whole book in one night I could not put it down I needed to read the whole thing so for me it was not as heavy as all the bright places but also not selling me some fake idea about being a teenager. I would recommend this book to everyone

1st Book review

Hi There

I started this blog because i was motivated by "all the bright places" by Jennifer Niven.

One of the main characters has a blog and also starts a new one so i thought why not.

On to the Review of the Book
First of all this book is amazing i was so captured by it i read the whole thing in a day. It is very intense and really really sad i almost cried. It is beautifully written and tackels important subjekts such as loosing someone close to you, depression and suicide. Thanks to this book i understand depression a little bit better and it gave me an insight in how to cope with loss.
I can wholeheartly reccomend this book, it will change you.

Soo this is my first review so its a bit short but as they say practise makes perfekt.

I hope who ever read this enjoyed this
